We proudly stand among the very few self-drive vintage car rental companies in Eastern Europe. No mandatory chauffeur, no fixed itinerary — just you, the open road, and some of the most beautiful driving routes in Romania.
Based at Dezmir Airfield, just minutes from Cluj-Napoca International Airport, Analog Roads is perfectly positioned for your Transylvania road trip. Discover the Apuseni Mountains, the Saxon villages of Sibiu and Sighișoara, or simply enjoy the atmosphere of Cluj’s historic Old Town in a beautifully preserved classic car.
Analog Roads is built on emotion, on love of places, people, and machines.
For us, it all started one beautiful spring afternoon at the Italian lakes in an old Alfa Romeo, where a chance encounter lit a flame that burns still…
Our vintage car rental in Romania experience is designed for travelers who appreciate atmosphere, craftsmanship and the joy of driving iconic classics.
Analog Roads offers a curated assortment of carefuly selected cars, that each offers something special: from the tiny Fiat 500 that brings its bubble of joy to every driver, to the Alfa Spider that seduces every eye that sees it; and from the aggressive ’80s grand touring that the BMW 635CSi excells at, to the visceral F1 howl of the Ferrari 348 driven at the edge, all of our cars are as characterful, and as unique as something that truly has a soul should be.
All four cars are available for hire in Cluj-Napoca and across Transylvania. Each one is road-legal, fully insured, and maintained to the highest standard.

Frequently asked questions about our rentals
Below are some of the most frequently asked questions we receive from our clients regarding car rentals. For any other questions, feel free to contact us.
Where is Analog Roads located?
We are based at our Hangar Home at Dezmir Airfield (LRCJ), just 5 minutes from Cluj-Napoca International Airport. Our address is Planoarelor 49, Dezmir, Cluj County, Romania. We are located in the heart of Transylvania, making it easy to explore the region’s beautiful driving roads.
Which classic cars can I rent?
Our fleet includes four carefully selected vintage automobiles: a 1966 Alfa Romeo Spider Duetto Osso di Seppia, a 1982 BMW 635CSi, a 1964 Fiat 500D Transformabile, and a 1989 Ferrari 348tb. Each car has a manual transmission and its own distinct character. The Alfa Romeo, BMW, and Fiat are available for self-drive rentals, while the Ferrari is reserved for driving experiences and special events only.
What is the difference between a self-drive rental and a driving experience?
A self-drive rental means you take the keys and explore Transylvania on your own, for a half day, full day, or multiple days. A driving experience is a 30-minute session where you drive one of our classic cars on a scenic road, with one of us riding alongside in the passenger seat. The driving experience is perfect for those who want a taste of vintage motoring without committing to a full rental, and no credit card deposit is required.
Do I need a special driving licence to rent a classic car?
No special licence is required. A standard, valid driving licence from your home country is sufficient. All of our cars have manual (stick-shift) transmissions, so you do need to be comfortable driving a manual gearbox. If your licence is not in the Latin alphabet, you may need an International Driving Permit. We welcome drivers from all over the world.
Why can't I rent the Ferrari as a self-drive?
Due to insurance limitations and the car’s exceptional value, the Ferrari 348tb is currently not available as a self-drive rental. However, you can experience the thrill of driving a Ferrari through our 30-minute driving experience, where you get behind the wheel yourself on a scenic driving road. The Ferrari is also available for weddings, events, and production shoots.
Is a security deposit required?
For self-drive rentals, yes. A security deposit is held on your credit card (we cannot accept debit cards or cash for the deposit). The deposits are: €900 for the Fiat 500D, and €2,500 for the Alfa Romeo Spider and BMW 635CSi. The deposit is fully refunded when the car is returned in good condition. For driving experiences, no deposit is required. For wedding and event bookings, a smaller deposit applies and can be paid by credit card, debit card, bank transfer, or cash.
How much does it cost to rent a classic car?
Prices start at €79 for a Fiat 500D driving experience, and from €215 for a half-day self-drive rental in the Fiat. The Alfa Romeo Spider starts at €450 per half day, and the BMW 635CSi at €375 per half day. Multi-day rentals offer better daily rates. For weddings and events, prices range from €390 to €1,190 depending on the car and duration. Full pricing details are available on each service page.
Can I hire a classic car for my wedding in Transylvania?
Absolutely — it is one of our most popular services. All four cars in our fleet are available for weddings and events, including the Ferrari 348tb. Our wedding car hire includes a chauffeur so you can relax and enjoy your special day, though you also have the option to drive the car yourself in the wedding procession. We will plan the route with you in advance to make sure everything runs smoothly.
What happens if the car breaks down?
Our cars are carefully maintained and serviced, but vintage cars can occasionally have mechanical quirks — that is part of their charm. If anything goes wrong during your rental, call us immediately and we will arrange assistance as quickly as possible. You will not be charged for any downtime caused by a mechanical issue that is not your fault.
